The New Trend for Sexy Corsets

Corsets. In one generation, they were a waist-length physique enhancing fashion trend, emphasizing what needed to be emphasized and minimizing what needed to be minimized. In the next generation, they were dusty relics of pre-feminist philosophy, shed to bring light on all that a woman was capable of. But now, they're back with a vengeance.

And now, the corset is hitting the streets with their hottest attitude and charm. But not for the same reason. You see, when the braziere, or bra, was invented, it sent old-fashioned corsets and girdles into grandma's attic. We are far enough removed from the old guard philosophic implications of the corset to like them for what they are: figure enhancement and sex appeal.

We've seen everyone from Angelina Jolie to Halle Berry in corsets recently. This lingerie spices up the pages of the Victoria's Secret catalog, and Emmy Rossum spent a good deal of the "Phantom of the Opera" flick in a sexy corset. And, our latest vampire flicks are only complete if the star is wearing gothic victorian-era corset.

In fact, the vampire culture is at least partially responsible for our new intrigue with the concept of corsets. The vampire culture trend is pulling out the corsets big time, and it is creating a huge following of people wearing them both in bed and for going out. And corsets are even adding a twist to shirt styles, becoming more tailored, shapely, and form-fitting to enhance a girl's figure.

For example, Kristen Stewart, Bella of the teen heartthrob series Twilight, has had many photo shoots in sexy black corsets that are complete with killer spiky shoes.

Anna Paquin, True Blood's Sookuh, has shown up both on screen and off in her sleek and modern corsets. (Remember her shocking electric blue corset?) Her trend setting ways paved the way for us to wear them out at night as well as in the bedroom set with sexy suspenders.

Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev is perhaps most famous for wearing corset after corset on screen, inspiring many girls to buy clothing that mimics her form fitting corset bodices.

Twilight, True Blood and Vampire Diaries are not the only vampire flicks to catch on to the corset craze. Melissa George, 30 Days of Night, even showed up on the red carpet in 2009 in a white mermaid gown with a corset bodice. Naomie Harris of 28 Days Later wore a black Dolce & Gabbana corset dress the same year.

These corsets are coming back with an attitude that they have never had before. And not just to vampire culture anymore, either. People all over are catching on and wearing them out on the town. These are not your grandma's corsets, but they are not your typical bra either. Supportive, sleek, and sexy, these corsets are designed for the highest appeal and shape.
